Building Community, One Sunday at a Time

Before the sun comes up in Fort Worth, the kitchen at Beautiful Feet Ministries is already moving. 
 
Coffee is brewing. Eggs are on the grill. Volunteers are stepping into place. And on one Sunday morning each month, a team from Walmart Store 4509 in Benbrook trades blue vests for aprons.

I spent the morning with this team during one of their second-Sunday volunteer shifts, and what I found was more than associates serving breakfast. There was laughter. There were stories. There was even a very serious conversation about grits. 
 
But underneath it all was something deeper: a group of people who have become part of the rhythm of this place. 
 
Beautiful Feet Ministries has served the Fort Worth community for nearly 45 years, offering meals, clothing, showers, laundry, medical and dental care, worship and a place where people are welcomed by name. For the associates from Store 4509, showing up there has become a meaningful way to serve beyond the four walls of the store. 
 
The relationship has grown over time. What started as volunteer support has become something more personal — familiar faces in the kitchen, shared conversations and a commitment to keep coming back. 
 
This story is also a powerful example of how Walmart and Sam's Club give associates ways to support eligible causes through volunteerism and Spark Good in the communities they serve.

At Beautiful Feet, that support looks like volunteer hours, food donations, grant funding and a team that keeps returning month after month.
